Material Selection
In the first step, the individual components for your rooftop tent are prepared. These semi-finished materials (= raw materials) are carefully inspected before further processing.

Roof Space stands for more than just innovative rooftop tents. We believe in sustainable practices, fair production and responsible materials.

We're passionate about our products - because we developed them ourselves and have seen their performance first-hand. That makes our enthusiasm genuine, infectious and tangible. We're proud to be pioneers in our field and are driven to keep improving, developing new ideas and asking challenging questions. Along the way, we deliberately step out of our comfort zone and set ourselves ambitious goals.

We love and respect our planet and its limited resources, which is why we take care to minimise the strain on our ecosystem. That's exactly why sustainability and longevity are decisive factors whenever we make decisions about products and processes. If you'd like to know more about why we chose our materials, take a look at our Tech Deep Dive!

At the same time, we're aware of our social responsibility in society. We choose our partners carefully, because trusting relationships matter greatly to us. We invest for the long term, maintain stable partnerships and ensure safe and fair working conditions. We're not perfect, but we challenge ourselves to make the world a little better, step by step.

Quality is not a buzzword for us. We hold ourselves and our products to a high standard, which is why we develop and test our products ourselves. That lets us honestly say we think through every detail. We also love good design. For us, that means combining function with aesthetics. We create products that are both reliable and refined.

Our ethos: no unhappy customers. That's why we engage with our customers honestly, openly and as equals - simply as we are. We listen actively and advise based on individual needs. We take feedback seriously and use it to develop products that don't just work, but delight.
Here you'll learn how our products are made.
Because we run our own production (i.e. we don't buy in from other manufacturers), we can trace exactly what happens, how, where and when.
Find out how your Roof Space is made!
In the first step, the individual components for your rooftop tent are prepared. These semi-finished materials (= raw materials) are carefully inspected before further processing.

Next, your shell is built. Our purpose-developed shell profiles made from 6061-T6 aluminium are precision CNC-machined and joined using laser welding.
This is followed by a 2-layer, weather-resistant coating.

Now it's the tent fabrics' turn. Patterns are prepared and sewn, zippers worked in, individual parts completed and all seams welded.

Assembly is next - but before it starts, every component is first checked for quality. Nothing proceeds without sign-off.
Once all components pass inspection, your rooftop tent is fully assembled. The shell profile is bonded, attachments bolted on, and the tent fabric fitted.
This is also where your tent receives its individual serial number and, with it, its own inspection report.

After assembly, every tent must pass a 15-point inspection, and we additionally run random rain chamber tests on every batch.
Once the tent has passed quality assurance, it's packed securely for transport and sent on its way.

Once it arrives at our warehouse, it's checked again, allocated to you and then shipped.

Once it arrives at your place, you can start mounting straight away! You'll find out how in your user manual and on our YouTube channel.
For the first setup, we've prepared orientation stickers on the shell so it works first go.
