More on the engineering, roof load and vehicle compatibility:
Roof Space started as a garage project – with an idea and the conviction that a roof top tent could be fundamentally better. More than 12,000 development hours later, the result is an award-winning product that defines a new category. With a minimum roof load of 75 kg, the Roof Space 2 fits around 95% of all vehicles; the Roof Space 4 needs 100 kg.

Roof Space – roof top tent manufacturer from Germany
Roof Space isn't a retailer reselling roof top tents. We develop, test and produce in-house – and deliver directly to you. No middle step, no mark-up. That means when you buy a car roof tent from us, you're buying from the manufacturer. And you get support from the team that knows the product.
Our range covers three product areas:
Hard-shell roof top tents – the heart of it
The Roof Space 2 and the Roof Space 4 are hard-shell roof top tents that are set up in under two minutes. As a car roof tent for 2–3 or 4–5 people, they set new standards – through the folding mechanism, the double panorama mode and the combination of a compact hard shell with a generous interior. For anyone looking to buy a roof top tent that makes no compromises.

Annexes & awnings – turn your roof top tent into a camp
A hard-shell roof top tent with an annex is a different category of outdoor experience. The Family Base annex creates living space of its own under the open sky. The Light Base gives you privacy and shelter from the wind. The Light Awning is the quick solution for protection from sun and rain. Every annex is a precise fit for the Roof Space 2 and Roof Space 4 – no improvising, no adapting.
Roof top tent accessories – complete the system
Thermal inner tent, mosquito net, premium mattress, anti-theft protection – Roof Space accessories are not an afterthought. They were developed alongside the tents, which is why they work seamlessly. If you want to buy your car roof tent and kit it out fully straight away, you'll find everything here in a single order.
